We know the struggles of keeping hearing devices on babies and toddlers. The baby pilot cap (or hearing aid hat) is the perfect solution to prevent your child from attempting to remove their hearing aids.
Llama Drama is our favourite- with it's pastel blue-green backdrop and super cute Llamas. With a mix of pastels, rainbows and adorable llamas- this gender neutral print is fun and full of colour.
The hearing aid pilot cap keeps your baby's hearing aid in place - allowing for optimum hearing, while reducing the risk of a lost hearing aid or any potential choking hazards.
As all children are different, we recommend choosing the size of the pilot cap based on the measurements of your child's head circumference rather than their age. As children do grow quickly, if you are purchasing the smaller size, we also suggest purchasing the next size up so you can move them into the next size when they are ready.
It is also important to note that your children's ears and hearing aids need to be kept clean at all times. We also know that child's play is messy! We suggest purchasing at least two pilot caps so that you have a clean one on hand at all times.
Pilot Cap Sizing:
Medium: Approximate age: 6-12months, for head circumference measuring approximately 42-46cm
Large: Approximate age: 12-18mths or head circumference measuring approximately 45 -49cm
Extra Large: 18mths +. We are currently in the production process making a larger size - arriving early 2024.
Each hearing aid pilot cap is made of a breathable cotton fabric. Caps are all adjustable, with three snap closures that fasten under the chin.
Disclaimer: Please note that our size guide is an approximate guide only. All head sizes, shapes and dimensions differ for each individual. The hat should be a snug fit to keep hearing aids in place. However, if the hat appears to be too tight and causes lines or indents onto the head, please discontinue use and move to the next size up.
Hearing Aid Pilot Caps are recommended to parents of hearing impaired babies and toddlers by Hearing Australia. Refer to our NDIS page for information about how to purchase your baby's pilot cap using your NDIS funds.
