I’m Sarah, a mum of two and the founder of The Sensory Specialist. The Sensory Specialist began trading in 2020, and is a proud NDIS Registered Provider. We are now a leading sensory store in Australia, backed by our strong customer base and expert knowledge of disabilities and child development. We have just rolled out our brand into Chemist Warehouse and Bunnings - two of Australia's leading retailers for family wellbeing and the home!
With a background in psychology and over a decade of teaching in Melbourne’s top government schools, I’ve worked closely with children of all needs and abilities. I saw firsthand the power of sensory and therapy-based tools in supporting development, emotional regulation, and learning.
That’s why I created The Sensory Specialist: to make high-quality, inclusive resources that are accessible to all families across Australia.
We’re proud to support neurodivergent individuals, families, educators, and therapists by offering tools that help children thrive - and by advocating for a more inclusive world.
